Ford Galaxy Window Problem

Hello,

I have just bought a 2005 Ford Galalxy Ghia Tdi. When i open the drivers window and then close it, the window goes all the way up and then goes back down to about halfway. I then have to keep my finger on the button in order to close it.

 

Does anybody know what the problem is ?

 

I am thinking of a faulty regulator ?

Sounds like the "trapped finger" protection (triggered by overcurrent)

Try lubricating the slide runners with some silicone spray to make the upward movement of glass easier for the motor.

sorry just noticed this topic.

it could be a kink in the cable aswell. have changed my window mechanism twice because of this problem.

first replacement was wond the wrong way on wheel, so I rewond it myself, the result was it was too loos and caused a kink in the cable, so I baught another window mechanism, replaced it and was fine after that.

but check simple things first. run a screwdriver around the rubber and make sure its clear of dirt and stones, lub it up abit, and listen when it starts to move in the other direction when you operate the window for kinks.
